Mumbai, India
Maharashtra Legislative Assembly
The structure is planned to represent the democracy through architecture, while retaining the integrity and security of the building. The building is signifying that, people are always watching the ones they have chosen to represent them.
In India, Government buildings have the perception of being very confidential entity where only authorities are supposed to step in. However, the democracy should be considered as a charming form of government, having variety and order and most importantly not being limited.
The Maharashtra Legislative Assembly building is proposed on the plot area of 723119 sq.ft. at Nariman Point in south Mumbai. It is located opposite to Mantralaya, at back bay reclamation. Nariman Point is a business district in Downtown Mumbai and it houses some of India’s prestigious business headquarters.
